DC.Ars: Fjord the Nords edition
In our last edition of DC.Ars,we discussed a mounting threat to Team Ars Technica’s first place in the DC-Vault. Team Norway has been steadilygaining on the team in several projects. It has become so close in theMiscellaneous category that there have even been a few exchanges of first place.
Being on the defensive is never a comfortable position. TeamArs Technica would rather choose where and when to battle than to be forced intocorners. Therefore, several of the senior team members put their heads togetherand came up with a plan. The plan was to openly attack Team Norway in Wieferich@Home while secretly building up adump in SHA-1 Collision.
The intentof the dump was to cause Team Norway to have to split in order to defend bothprojects. The other part of the dump plan was to keep rushing SHA-1 to putseveral positions between Ars and Norway. The dump occurred on January 23. The dump shot Team Ars Technica well past Team Norway, with the aftermathcrunching giving Ars a seven-position lead over Norway. Hard work and well done.
