Obama Googlebomb Is History
Newly inaugurated President Barack Obama swept into office on a platform promising change in Washington, but it seems some politically minded Googlebombers didn't get the memo. They just transferred their same Googlebomb from George W. Bush to Barack Obama. So Google searches for the term "miserable failure," which used to direct users to a page on George W. Bush, now instead get redirected to one of Obama. The more things change, the more they stay the same--especially when it comes to Washington.
The newer "miserable failure" Googlebomb is in addition to the "cheerful achievement" Googlebomb Obama supporters unleashed previously. Google, however, says it has remedied the situation, using an algorithm it developed a few years ago to detect Googlebombs. In a blog posting, Google explained it this way:
