Facebook to users: How open can you go?

Facebook users can now make a wide variety of information on their profiles completely open to the public. This may not be what all users want but some do - and so far being completely open with your life on Facebook hasn't been an option - but being open is how many others prefer to use the web.
And its another that Facebook is trying to compete against other social networks like MySpace (which is built around public profiles) and microblogging service Twitter.
