Week in review: XFCE, binary black holes, and huge netbook bills - Ars Technica

When it comes to Linux desktop environments, GNOME and KDE rule the roost. That doesn't mean that there aren't other interesting and worthy alternatives out there. One of those, XFCE, was refreshed this week. XFCE 4.6 delivers a streamlined, polished, and extremely functional experience that hums on older hardware.
